The ICDL Program is a fully integrated solution of pre-assessment tools, training components, diagnostic assessments, certification testing and administrative tools that assure an educational institution, a workforce development organization, a potential employer or employee that the basic digital skills demanded in today’s workplace have been successfully demonstrated and are ready to be put to use.
Pre-Assess >
The CSP™ and TechReady™ assessments are powerful, convenient, and economical stand-alone tools that accurately measure an individual’s competency in 7 basic key areas. These results pinpoint a candidate's proficiencies and deficiencies which are helpful for academic placement, job placement, and job training.
Train >
As a comprehensive certification program, ICDL provides a variety of curriculum options, including printed instructor-led courseware, e-learning courseware, and quick references.
Diagnose >
Once a candidate has been instructed and trained, ICDL offers Diagnostic Assessments for each of the 7 modules. These assessments measure the competency of each module, ensuring the candidate is ready to proceed with the certification tests.
Certify >
Candidates who pass all seven module tests receive an ICDL Certification card, to be shown to prospective employers as an achievement of fundamental knowledge in all seven computer skill areas. Candidates can also earn college credit for each ICDL test successfully passed through Excelsior College, www.excelsior.edu. In addition, the ICDL program is being used in the military through the DANTES and Veterans Administration’s Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment programs.
